ABOUT
Hello and Welcome to My Blog
I’m Lorraine
I started Think nd Thrive to inspire people to get out of their heads and into their hearts and go after their dreams.
Think nd Thrive is a personal development blog designed to inspire, educate, and motivate you to act.
Struggling with indecisiveness, mental chatter and over thinking things?
Well, my goal is to inspire you to get out of your rut, declutter your mind, achieve mental clarity, then set goals, and take action to bring about a change in your life.
A Little Bit About Me
Introverted procrastinator turned motivational mentor, dynamic leader and blogger!
A perfectionist, over thinker, and multi-tasker and a pro at getting nothing completed.
Indecisive, lack of self-confidence and unachieved goals. That was me.
I was allowing a lot of opportunities to go by and hoping that they would one day, someday, come back around again.
Well, it is rare that the same opportunity would come around a second or third time. Whatever happened to “strike while the iron is hot?”
With a myriad of responsibilities and commitments, our goals often get pushed to the side and are no longer a top priority. This results in a lack of focus, lack of inspiration, and setbacks.
If you are like the ‘new me,’ then it does not have to be so. Life can be more fulfilling and exciting.
My Background
As a child, I dreamt about becoming a banker. Today, I am a seasoned market research professional with more than 20 years’ experience in the banking and financial services industry
Leaving my comfort zone was one of my biggest accomplishments. I joined my local Toastmasters club and in this supportive -learning environment is where I learned how to develop my speaking and presentation skills and become a leader.
Remember wherever you are planted, find ways to develop and grow. More to say on that topic in one of my blog posts.
As a dynamic leader, mentor, and now blogger, my goal is to provide inspiration on how to declutter and move into action. Life is so much more beautiful when we take action and our smallest wins are celebrated.
My love for personal development sparked when I attended T Harv Eker’s workshop -‘Millionaire Mind Intensive’ and Tony Robbins’ conference – ‘Unleash the Power Within’. Over the years, I attended more seminars, conferences and workshops towards my own personal development.
Learning is a life long journey and the process never stops. We are continuously learning about new ideas, how to be innovative and the smartest ways to get things done. We should never stop learning. Once we stop learning we are dying.
How I Got Out of My Own Way
I found ways to nurture my mental well-being, challenge the constant chatter, stop allowing perfectionism to run the show and start taking care of me.
The first biggest challenge was getting out of my head and into my heart.
The second biggest challenge was getting out of my own way and learning how to go for it!
The third biggest challenge was actually doing that very “thing” that I wanted to do.
I developed the mental and emotional muscles to do all three sequentially.
For example, in January 2018, I decided to create my own challenge: to run a half marathon! I made a conscious decision to do something I have always wanted to do. In December 2018, I completed the half marathon in Negril, Jamaica. Prior to this, the last time I ran a half marathon was in 2007. Believe me it was hard.
Now I’m taking the leap of faith to begin my blog – something I dared myself to do. And today, I’m sharing my blog with you – my reader.
If you are spending most of your time wishing and hoping life would be different, but not taking any action – I can relate. I invite you to join me on this journey to regain clarity and get inspired to achieve your wildest dreams.
I invite you to ‘strike while the iron is hot.’
